Happy Sunday! The image search I put in today was 'try to keep up' because, as I have mentioned before, Spring is crazy! What do you know? One of my favorite scenes from one of my favorite shows came up. Any other fans out there? 
Ok, enough about that. This is a BIG week!! This week is dedicated to our first ever Move a Thon happening THIS Friday!! It is going to be a very fun event for the kids. We are also hoping it brings in a lot of money to support our students and teachers. Please send the 99pledges link/email to as many people as possible! There is also a post on the Westbrook Instagram page that you can share on your own Instagram or Facebook page, if you feel inclined. Also cash and checks made out to Westbrook PTC will be accepted until Friday, 4/19. Let's do this!!

It’s Westbrook’s Inaugural Move-A-Thon FUNdraising time!

Here’s an excerpt from our Move-A-Thon Fundraiser site: “We are preparing for some big fun next month and plan to give it our best at our school’s inaugural Move-A-Thon! We are so excited to be a part of it because this event raises money for our school and we can earn super cool prizes too!

Did you know, Westbrook is the first elementary school in the @rcsdchampions district to participate in the Unified Sports Program (and tournaments), organized by the @specialolympics? Our team is @westbrookunifiedsports!

We are so excited to be #ROCKstars because @rcsdwestbrook ROCKS! Mrs. Brooks, the principal, calls us “ROCKstars” and helps us problem solve by encouraging us to ask ourselves: “What if we can?” Do you know what that means? It means we are Resilient, Organized, Cooperative and Kind and capable of great things! We especially love being celebrated for being US! We would really love it if you would be our ROCKstars-In-Training by helping us achieve our fundraising goals! Will you sponsor us? There are options to sponsor us per lap or a simple flat donation. Thank you for your help. Together we will ROCK this fundraiser!

MoJoe's Scoop Night: This Tuesday, 4/9, from 5-7pm

In order to properly prepare for our Move a Thon, we must carb load. What better way than with some ice cream!! Westbrook teachers and staff will be scooping ice cream this Tuesday from 5-9pm. Stop by whenever works for your family and grab some ice cream!! 

WE’RE HAVING A BOOK FAIR!

Save the date: April 8TH - April  12TH

While our physical book fair doesn’t start until April 8th, our Online Companion Fair is currently open and purchases can be made there.  The Online Companion Fair is where family and friends who are unable to attend in person can shop the book fair from home and still support Westbrook.  This is also where parents can purchase digital gift cards for their students!

The book fair will be open during the move a thon and we could use some extra hands. We would love your help!

Book Fair Schedule:

The Book Fair is open from 2-4pm on Monday through Friday. It is open from 1-3pm on Wednesday. It will also be open during the Move a Thon.

Teachers will be taking their classes one time during the week. You can purchase a gift card for your child so they do not have to bring cash to school. 

Total Solar Eclipse-Tomorrow, 4/8! We will be sharing this experience with the students in a very careful way. Please remind your students not to look at the sun. We will be providing them with glasses to wear whenever they are outside. Recesses will also be held inside tomorrow. 

This coming Saturday, April 13: There is a Small Business maker and craft fair and neighborhood garage sale. The maker and craft fair will be in the Westbrook parking lot. Please come check it out!!

  Well, Hello March! I cannot believe March is upon us. The rest of the year is absolutely going to fly by. It is nuts! The kids have grown so much this year and made so many friends. Happy Sunday, Families! In true Westbrook style, we are finishing the year with a bang! Our First Responders Day was absolutely amazing and there were so many of our parents participating! What a gift! I don't think I will surprise anyone when I say I think it will be even bigger next year!  This image is funny because A) we are almost at the end of the school year and B) I will be on you about parking lot procedures next year, too!! 😂 Field Day: Field Day is this Wednesday! It is going to be so fun. This is not an event where parents can come watch, but you can definitely come help!
