Happy Sunday Families! The end of our first year is giving me all the feels. How can it be the end of our first year already? Last year at this time, I was wondering what everything would look like and hoping things would go well. And now, I have seen and experienced all of the things we made happen together. What a year! What a feeling! It has been incredible. I probably say this all the time but I want you to know that when people from around the district come to our school, they always say 'it feels different.' They say things like: It feels 'lighter,' 'so positive,' and 'welcoming.' Every time people say these things, I beam with pride and feel so lucky to be a part of it. So, what is the end of our first year is actually represents the beginning of Westbrook! Drop Off Reminder: In the morning, the final bell rings at 7:40am. It is often a misconception that the students should be dropped off by 7:40am when this bell actually signifies the beginning of the school day when all students should be in their seats.
We know kids are tired this time of year but please try to have your child dropped off by the 7:35am bell. This gives them time to get into class and be ready to go. There are just a few more weeks. I know we can do it!
Friday morning was much better after my reminders. Let's keep it up!
Community Thank You: That means it must be time to get ready for the next event- Our Community Thank You Event. This event will take place on Friday, May 3rd from 5-8pm. Your students' teachers will be reaching out for a little support making a class basket for a silent auction and maybe helping set up/create a booth. As far as the night, it is for you to enjoy as we have high school students ready to run the booths. Because the craft and maker fair was postponed due to weather, they will be there in our parking lot. There will also be food trucks and of course, the silent auction. It is going to be a very fun evening!
