Happy Super Bowl Sunday! You know what is fun about the Super Bowl? It is a game that truly brings everyone together because there is something for everyone. If you don't care about football, or which team wins, you can show up for Usher at half-time, all of the great commercials, the amazing snacks or even Taylor Swift😂 (That last part is so funny to me.) The point is, today is a day to enjoy time with those around you and make what you want of it. Maybe your favorite snacks and a half-time dance party are exactly what you need. Or you may be a die hard Niners fan and yelling at the TV is what you need. Whatever it is, do it and enjoy every moment! Also, enjoy the day off after! 


February is Black History Month: One of our amazing parents decorated campus with facts and achievements of Black leaders. The children are encouraged to write down some facts to be included in a drawing each week. Here is a note from the parent:

 "Happy Black History Month! You've probably noticed all of the amazing Black History Month facts in the windows and in the library of both past and current Black leaders. Now it's time to see just what you know! There will be a box in the front office with cards. Write down a fact that you've seen, put in the box, and wait to see if your card is pulled to win a prize! Don't forget to write your name on it! 

Teachers and parents - please encourage the students to check out the information and submit their facts/cards!"

Families, if you would like to do something for an upcoming heritage month, please let me know! We would love to have your help! 


Open House: Our next big event is Open House! It will be on March 21 from 4-7pm and is one of our favorite events. Your children are so proud to show you their classroom and what they do each day. This is also a great time to hang out with our Westbrook community. There will be several food trucks so plan on grabbing dinner, seeing your child's classroom and chatting with friends. We are so excited!
The food trucks are available from 4-7pm and the classrooms are open from 5-6pm. See you there!


Move-A-Thon: It is coming... the 1st Annual Westbrook Move-A-Thon and it is going to be incredible!! At Westbrook, we don't know how to do things any other way. Of course, we need your help to make this as big as we dream. There is a PTC meeting on 2/23 at 6pm where we will start the planning. Add it to your calendar now! Spring Testing Dates: See below for our Spring testing dates. Please try to avoid missing school during these windows. If your child will have to miss school during these times, please reach out to you child's teacher to create a plan. Thank you.

ELPAC testing will take place from April 3-12.  The ELPAC is given to students who have been identified as English Learners. 

CAST 5th grade only - April 22-26 (CAST = California Science Test)
CAASPP grades 3-5 - April 29-May 10
CAASPP Makeups- May 13-17

Westbrook Snow Clothes Closet: It is the time of year for trips to the snow. Please take advantage our our snow clothes closet! Let us know if you need to borrow some clothes for a trip to the snow. Also, we are still accepting snow clothes donations. You can drop them off in the front office.

  Well, Hello March! I cannot believe March is upon us. The rest of the year is absolutely going to fly by. It is nuts! The kids have grown so much this year and made so many friends. Happy Sunday, Families! In true Westbrook style, we are finishing the year with a bang! Our First Responders Day was absolutely amazing and there were so many of our parents participating! What a gift! I don't think I will surprise anyone when I say I think it will be even bigger next year!  This image is funny because A) we are almost at the end of the school year and B) I will be on you about parking lot procedures next year, too!! 😂 Field Day: Field Day is this Wednesday! It is going to be so fun. This is not an event where parents can come watch, but you can definitely come help!
