Happy New Year, Westbrook!! Are any of you excited to send your children back to school?? Haha! I am joking, but there is a hint of truth. Children do thrive with consistency and sometimes breaks are tough because the schedule is out . Regardless, we are so excited to have the children back and to see them tomorrow. Just like I mentioned after Thanksgiving Break, coming back is tough. They may say they do not want to come. They will definitely say they are too tired and will probably complain of a stomach ache. Bring them anyway!! Once they get to school, they will forget their worries and jump in! We are ready to love them!! 

The new year often brings New Year's Resolutions and all of that fun, but for me, this new year represents so much more than that. Last year, on January 11, I had my interview to be the principal of Westbrook Elementary. Clearly, I got the job (Ha!), but in reflection, my 2023 was dedicated to Westbrook. Was it a lot of work? Heck ya!! But, I have loved every minute! I would not change a thing. I cannot explain how it feels to see my vision come to life. If you were part of my initial presentation, you know one of the most important things to me was to build a tight knit community. Well, I am not sure I have ever seen a more unified and supportive community than the Westbrook community. We show up for each other and have each others backs. We are an incredible team!!! Keep this in mind when times are great and when times are tough. Give when you can give, ask for help when you need help. This community is here for each of you. 

What is my 2024 focus? With the risk of sounding selfish, my focus this year is actually on myself. I need to dial in my nutrition and time management. If you are working on the same, let me know and we can be accountability partners! 

Fun Events Coming Soon! We had a very eventful December, but it is time to start thinking about our next events. Our biggest event, the Westbrook Move A Thon, is coming in March. It will take many hands to make it the huge success I know it will be. I also believe in running it on our own, so all of the donations come back to the school. We will share more information soon about how you can help. We will also be sharing our PTC meeting schedule. Be on the look out!

  Well, Hello March! I cannot believe March is upon us. The rest of the year is absolutely going to fly by. It is nuts! The kids have grown so much this year and made so many friends. It is going to be hard to part for summer, but I am not even going to think about that yet! Happy Sunday, Families! In true Westbrook style, we are finishing the year with a bang! Our First Responders Day was absolutely amazing and there were so many of our parents participating! What a gift! I don't think I will surprise anyone when I say I think it will be even bigger next year!  This image is funny because A) we are almost at the end of the school year and B) I will be on you about parking lot procedures next year, too!! 😂 Field Day: Field Day is this Wednesday!
