Happy Sunday! If you were at my initial Westbrook community meeting in January last year, you know teaching our students to be resilient is very important to me. My goal is that when our students leave Westbrook, they have the skills to overcome challenges and to bounce back after failure. On Friday, we recognized our second group of Resilient students and it was so fun to see their pride and excitement. We also recognized another group of resilient students and those were our student who achieved reclassification. When a student achieves reclassification it means is they have acquired sufficient English language fluency to perform successfully in core academic subjects. This is something these students should be very proud of because they have definitely persevered and overcome challenges to reach this milestone. 

Speaking of resilience, I want to share a funny story. Last Thursday, my family was at the dinner table and Joelle and I were talking about the upcoming assembly for resilience. Both of my boys, who are older, said, "What the heck does resilient mean?' My jaw dropped and I said, 'Well, clearly I am failing as a mother, but maybe winning as a principal?' Ha! It makes me so happy our students know and understand what it means to be resilient. On the other hand, I have work to do at home!

PTC Meeting: Thank you to everyone who came to our PTC meeting. We talked about the upcoming Move A Thon and some other roles we are looking to fill. We will be sharing sign ups soon! I encourage you to sign up for something and if you are nervous or have questions, feel free to reach out! We are all happy to help!

  Well, Hello March! I cannot believe March is upon us. The rest of the year is absolutely going to fly by. It is nuts! The kids have grown so much this year and made so many friends. Happy Sunday, Families! In true Westbrook style, we are finishing the year with a bang! Our First Responders Day was absolutely amazing and there were so many of our parents participating! What a gift! I don't think I will surprise anyone when I say I think it will be even bigger next year!  This image is funny because A) we are almost at the end of the school year and B) I will be on you about parking lot procedures next year, too!! 😂 Field Day: Field Day is this Wednesday! It is going to be so fun. This is not an event where parents can come watch, but you can definitely come help!
