Sunday, December 3

Hello Families! We are officially in December. I have no idea where November went! These few weeks between Thanksgiving and Winter Break are a very busy and exciting time in schools. Classes do many fun activities and celebrations. Yes, these are super fun times but they can be tough for kids. What I mean is schedules and routines are changed and there are a lot of emotions for children to process. As a result, behavior tends to change a bit. We are used to this and are not concerned. I share this with you because you may be seeing different things at home, or hearing different things from school. It is simply part of this busy season and it is all good! It is the most wonderful time of the year, right??

Speaking of fun and busy, Friday in itself, was quite a day! The Elf made and appearance in the morning. Just so you know, the Elf will be out and about each morning in December. The kids can look for it on their way to class. We only have one rule- No Touching! And the Elf cannot talk. It would love to say 'hello' but it can't.

Then, it was time for our assemblies. Some Fridays, we are lucky enough to have 2 assemblies and this Friday was one of them. First, our Friday Flag Salute and then our assembly to recognize our students who demonstrate Kindness daily. Here is a picture of these amazing students!

After that, we had a quick turn around to get our toy donations loaded up and a group of students headed to drop off our toy donations. The donation was organized by our K-Kids Club. The K-Kids Club members discover their passion to serve, desire to lead and their ability to engage and collaborate with others to better the school and community. Some of the club members are pictured above. There are more fun activities coming soon!

Would you believe we were featured on the news?? Actually, I believe it. Westbrook is a pretty special place to be. The clip will be shared this week!
