We had our first indoor assembly this week. It was the Woodcreek Theater Group performing for our students. I share this not only because it was very fun for the students but because everything we do at Westbrook is the first time we do anything. Each event requires planning and preparation and then we see how it goes. Afterwards, we talk about how it went, make changes as needed, and get ready for the next time. Lucky for us, we have an incredible staff willing to try anything and awesome students who are very flexible and well-behaved. And this, is the recipe for success!
* Students are released at 11:25am each day (Unless you have heard otherwise from your child's teacher)
* Lunch is early and all students have lunch at the same time. We encourage students to bring a snack and eat at home, if possible.
* Hot lunch is available for students who would like a hot lunch but there is only one option.
Below is the week's menu.
K-Kids: We are lucky to have a K-Kids club at Westbrook and they have many philanthropic events coming up. See below for details:
** KCRA Kids Can Food Drive now through next week. Bring in cans to help the Placer County Food Bank feed the community. Any non-perishable foods will be greatly appreciated!!
** Silver Wars for Lahaina - starts after Thanksgiving break. We will have plastic tubs for each teacher. Students bring in coins to fill their tub. One Friday, we will have a sabotage time to go to other classes with dollar bills. The teacher with the most money after sabotage WINS!!!
** Toys For Tots - collecting new toys for little ones. This event will take place in December.
Toy and Clothing Swap: Please drop things off during the week of 11/13-11/16 and come take advantage of the swap on Friday the 17th from 6-8pm.
Mark your calendars for December 1: The evening of December 1st from 5-8pm will be a Parent's Night Out. You can drop your children off with familiar faces and then go enjoy a few hours of fun and quiet. $30 per child, $75 max per family.
December 14: Season of Giving Craft and Maker Fair! This is the evening the neighborhood Santa comes through the neighborhood. If this is your first holiday season in Roseville, it is really cool. Santa and his elves come through the streets of Roseville. We are going to make this quite an event at Westbrook and are partnering with the Solaire Neighborhood Association!
