Happy Sunday Families! It is time to come back to school after a nice, long break. We are all very excited to see your children and hear about all of the fun things they did over break. It is often tough for children to transition back after breaks, but that is very common! Even if they tell you they don't want to come back, bring them anyway. We will embrace them with a smile and they will be having fun with their friends in no time! We have 3.5 busy weeks of school until our next break. This time of year flies by!  I am thankful for each of you and for all that you do! Thank you to everyone who donated items to our swap, helped set it up and especially those of you who came to the swap! It was a huge success and we do plan to do it again. I have major FOMO as I couldn't be there, but I will be at the next one!  Below are some exciting things coming up:  ** The deadline for these submissions has been extended to December 1.  Here is how you pay for the Spanish Class...

We had our first indoor assembly this week. It was the Woodcreek Theater Group performing for our students. I share this not only because it was very fun for the students but because everything we do at Westbrook is the first time we do anything. Each event requires planning and preparation and then we see how it goes. Afterwards, we talk about how it went, make changes as needed, and get ready for the next time. Lucky for us, we have an incredible staff willing to try anything and awesome students who are very flexible and well-behaved. And this, is the recipe for success!  Parent-Teacher Conferences: Speaking of firsts, this will be our first parent-teacher conference week at Westbrook. The schedule is very different and it will be a lot of learning and adjusting for all. The good news is that I promise it gets better each day! A reminder of the details: * Students are released at 11:25am each day (Unless you have heard otherwise from your child's teacher) * Lunch is earl...

Happy Sunday and welcome to November! On Friday, we recognized Cooperative students. I love how excited our students are to celebrate their classmates. We also sang our school song together for the first time. Mr. Marmorstein has been teaching the students this song in music class and it is the best song. He and the students created the song together which makes it even more meaningful. Enjoy! I think 80% of our teachers had teary eyes by the end of that song. Every time I hear it, my heart is full! πŸ’™πŸ’› Upcoming Events: We have many upcoming events this month and next! Take advantage of the Dine Out on Tuesday at Tomatina. We all know odds are pretty good you need to go to Target anyway, so why not pick up dinner on your way homeπŸ˜‚ November 10: No School in honor of Veteran's Day.  November 13-17 is conference week.   Students are released each day at 11:25 am. Be sure to arrange your schedule and childcare to accommodate change. Also, we will have hot lunch availabl...
